The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs published its annual white paper on cooperation and development on Tuesday.

The paper notably highlighted that Japan’s strategy to proactively offer Official Development Assistance to developing countries and it aims to meet the needs of recipient countries and ensure mutual objectives in aid activities.

The country will primarily focus its Official Development Assistance efforts on Southeast Asian countries, including Viet Nam, aligning with Japan’s Indo-Pacific Strategy and Southern Hemisphere policy. Moreover, Japan encourages recipient countries to suggest areas of cooperation, promoting a more proactive role for these nations.
