Four truckloads of humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip through a newly opened northern crossing point by Israel on Friday. The food aid entered Gaza late Thursday night and was received by personnel from the UN World Food Program.
Meanwhile, Israeli army spokesman stated that the Israel Defense Forces and the Office of the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories coordinated the aid delivery. The trucks underwent strict security inspections by Israeli border authorities at the Kerem Shalom border crossing with Gaza and were escorted by armed forces, according to the Israeli army spokesman.
