A technical seminar on "Pesticide Residue-Free Export Crops and Achieving Target Yield" was held on October 17 in Taunggyi. At the seminar, Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung stated that it is becoming increasingly important not only to achieve the target yields for crops but also to ensure that the harvested crops are free from pesticide residues.

He explained that only by producing export crops and domestic consumption crops with low pesticide residues can the products compete in the international market and fetch good prices, while also being safe for domestic consumers. He advised farmers that they need to follow the recommendations provided by the Department of Agriculture regarding cultivation.

And, officials answered questions from the farmers concerning their respective sectors, and a general discussion was held. The State Chief Minister also coordinated and fulfilled the work requirements with the relevant departments.

Afterward, the State Chief Minister and officials cordially greeted the farmers who attended the ceremony and observed the informational books, pamphlets, and teaching aids displayed in the hall. Subsequently, experts delivered educational discussions and lectures on their respective subjects.
