Agriculture Sector: Dy Minister Inspects Regional Research Center

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut on Sunday evenings inspected the research activities and establishment of a research farm at the Regional Research Center (Lay Daung Kan) in Dagon Myothit (South) Township of Yangon Region.

There, he met with officers and staff and provided instructions. He emphasized the need to conduct variety selection research with the joint participation of township agricultural officials and farmers, to strictly supervise tender-based projects and to ensure research staff abide by the code of conduct for civil servants, live in unity, and establish staff welfare plantations on vacant plots.

Subsequently, the officer-in-charge of the Research Center presented the research activities planned for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. And, the Deputy Minister provided additional discussions and instructions regarding the necessary requirements.

Following this, the Deputy Minister inspected the experimental rice fields within the research farm. He then discussed with officials the importance of the farm establishing itself as a reliable research center for farmers.
