Agriculture Sector : Dy Minister Attends Model Monsoon Paddy Harvest

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Tin Htut attended the Model Monsoon Paddy Harvest held in Kyonkan Village Tract, Kyauktan Township, Yangon Region.

During his address at the ceremony, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of simultaneously addressing crucial knowledge related to soil science and water management to successfully achieve the target yields of crops.

He also highlighted the need for the seed sector, stating that to meet the nationwide demand, not only must private seed production companies play their part, but farmers themselves must also be empowered to produce and utilize high-quality, compliant seeds. He further stressed that pesticide usage must be reduced in agricultural practices. Following his remarks, the Deputy Minister observed and encouraged the Model Monsoon Paddy Harvest activities.
