Agriculture Sector: CM visits seed production farm, meets farmers

Magway Region Chief Minister U Tint Lwin visited the 15-acre paddy seed production farm in Wuntwin Village of Mindon Township.

At the farm, he heard reports on agriculture sector condition in the township area, paddy seed production farming and quality paddy cultivation. There, the Chief Minister also met with farmers and stressed that the country is developing a market economy system based on agriculture.

About 70 percent of the population in the region is rural people engaged in agriculture, so the regional government is paying special attention to support the farmers' living standards and the comprehensive development of the agriculture sector.

In order to obtain water for agriculture, the regional government has been implementing solar power and underground water wells projects. And, the farmers presented matters including the trade route condition, and the Chief Minister coordinated with concerned officials to tackle the matters.
