Agriculture & Livestock Sector: Union Minister makes inspections in Kachin State

Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation has been making efforts for agricultural development in Kachin State.

Union Minister U Tin Htut Oo, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan inspected agriculture and livestock farms at the northern command and provided animal medicines.

In WaingMaw Township, the Union Minister attended the green manure growing ceremony, explained benefits of green manure, provided green manure and vegetables seeds and took part in the green manure growing.

In Myitkyina, the Union Minister inspected works on irrigation channels and bridges construction in the 100-acre model farm in TatKone Ward and gave necessary instructions.

Also, he inspected the rubber research works at the research farm near NaungNan Village, met with rubber growers and made discussion on acceleration of rubber farming in Kachin State and market condition.

The Union Minister also visited a silkworm farm in Myitkyina, observed farmer technical training and gave necessary instructions to concerned officials to turn the silkworm farming into a commercial one.

Also, he visited a dairy cow farm, made inspections, held talks on infectious diseases prevention and provided medicines.
