Agriculture Facilities: Efforts for development of irrigation facilities

Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw on August 21st met with farmers from Shin Tae Gyi Village, Pobathiri Township and Kyun Yaung Village, Zeyathiri Township of Nay Pyi Thaw Council Area.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister discussed the cultivation techniques by using quality seeds and systematic use of fertilizers, following the good agriculture practices, boosting production and and upgrading of irrigation facilities.

He also explained the extended implementation of solar powered pumping stations, efficient utilization of irrigated water, and digging of solar-powered tube wells. He called for collaboration among relevant departments to facilitate for timely cultivation and harvesting, contributing to the development of agriculture sector. They then observed the status of tube wells and potential locations with promising groundwater prospects for drilling new tube wells and irrigation facilities, and suitable sites along Sin Thay Creek for implementing low-lift solar pumping systems.
