Agriculture Development: MOALI Union Minister Meets Departmental Personnel

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo met with the officials of the departments under the ministry in Thaninthayi Region on January 13th.

The Union Minister said Thaninthayi Region mainly relies on marine industry and palm oil cultivation. He stressed the needs to make efforts for yielding at least 80 to 90 baskets of rice, and to choose the possible farmlands for achieving this target.

He also instructed to cultivate lucrative vegetables as the second crop after the paddy cultivation season, and also urged to extend the cultivation of coffee, cocoa and spices in addition to palm oil, rubber, betel nut and cashew. The Union Minister called for cooperation of departmental personnel for the success of the work undertakings.
