







Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Bo Bo Kyaw on September 18 visited Gyo Ywa Village in Amarapura Township of Mandalay Region to oversee the monsoon paddy plantations.
He also met with local farmers and instructed for boosting crop yields and using good agriculture practices based on the conditions of water, soil and climate. He also called for cooperation of farmers in implementation of irrigation facilities by State Economic Promotion Fund.
He then viewed the broadcasting of natural fertilizers at the monsoon paddy plantations. At No.63 Mechanized Farming Station, the Deputy Minister instructed officials to ensure timely provision of farm implement for each cultivation season and formation of farmers' organizations.
The Deputy Minister then proceeded to the Agriculture and Livestock Institute (Patheingyi), and inspected the academic process. He also met with the students and urged all to strive for being an expert in agricultural field, and outlined the future opportunities for their carriers.
The Deputy Minister then inspected the dredging works along Mandalay Main Canal. He also visited the Irrigation Development Training Division (Patheingyi), and inspected the testing of construction materials, quality control works and laboratory tests.
