Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Hla Moe, accompanied by the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council and officials visited Shar Taw Village in Lewe Township on the morning of February 9 to attend the opening ceremony of the agricultural machinery sales gallery and workshop of the Pioneer Agriculture, Livestock, and General Business Cooperative Society (Limited).

First, Union Minister U Hla Moe, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman, and officials cut the ribbon to open the sales gallery and workshop, followed by the taking of a group commemorative photograph. Subsequently, in his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that the development of basic agricultural mechanization industries greatly contributes to the development of cooperative businesses, the eradication of poverty, the increase of job opportunities, and the reduction of labor migration to urban areas and foreign countries for work.

He also mentioned that transitioning from manual farming to mechanized farming by purchasing and importing necessary machinery from abroad can lead to foreign currency loss and high maintenance costs. Therefore, efforts must be made to widely produce and use high-quality domestically produced machinery.

Following that, the Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman explained the tasks being undertaken for the development of the Nay Pyi Taw Council. Next, the Chairman of the Pioneer Cooperative Society explained the efforts undertaken to open the agricultural machinery sales gallery and workshop.

Afterwards, the Union Minister coordinated and integrated the necessary support for the agricultural, livestock, and development presentations made by cooperative member farmers and local residents. Furthermore, the Union Minister inspected the agricultural machinery and workshop, and also viewed and encouraged the summer paddy trial cultivation being demonstrated using locally made hand-operated transplanters and seeders.

From there, in honor of the upcoming 79th Union Day, the Union Minister attended the opening ceremony of a new 2200-foot-long concrete road in Kyun Kone Village, Thaw Hmaw Kone Village Tract, Lewe Township, constructed with the Nay Pyi Taw Council's allocated funds for the 2025-26 fiscal year.

The Union Minister, Nay Pyi Taw Council members, and the Permanent Secretary cut the ribbon to open the new access road and inspected it. Afterwards, the Union Minister met with local residents, explained the ministry's policies, goals, objectives, and implementation tasks, as well as matters related to the cooperative system and agricultural and livestock farming activities. He then integrated and addressed the necessary support for the development proposals of the local residents.
