With the aim of enabling the full use of mechanized power in the agricultural sector, promoting the wider adoption of agricultural machinery, and ensuring that farmers can more affordably own and use such equipment, thereby allowing them to cultivate multiple crops three times a year, the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, under its leadership, together with the Department of Agricultural Mechanization and the Myanmar Agricultural Machinery Entrepreneurs Association, jointly organized an Agricultural Machinery Exhibition.
The exhibition continued into its second day on the morning of December 23 at the University of Agriculture and Livestock Science (Pyinmana) in Nay Pyi Taw. In the morning session, 130 farmers from within the Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory attended the exhibition.
In the afternoon, more than 250 participants from Yangon Region, Bago Region, and Ayeyawady Region, along with students from the University of Agriculture and Livestock Science, farmers from various regions, agricultural practitioners, and members of the public interested in agricultural machinery, visited the exhibition.
Visitors observed with keen interest live demonstrations of the use of agricultural machinery as well as practical demonstrations of crop cultivation. The study groups were provided with explanations and demonstrations by the Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Min Naung, deputy ministers, departmental officials, and responsible personnel from private exhibition booths.
The Agricultural Machinery Exhibition, which is being held from December 22 to 24, features more than 300 types of agricultural machinery displayed across 30 booths by 22 companies. The exhibition is open to the public free of charge, and arrangements have also been made to sell the machinery to interested buyers at affordable prices, it’s reported.
