Agricultural Development: MoALI Union Minister Inspected Value-Added Plantations

The Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo met with the local agricultural entrepreneurs in Heho, Shan State (South) on 7th June. At the meeting, the union minister said that the expansion into the commercial scale agricultural producing of value-added crops cultivated in Shan State, producing value-added products using advanced technologies, cooperation of private agricultural entrepreneurs like the providing technical assistance by the Ministry and helping the small scale farmers to develop the quality and quantity of the products.

The union minister together with the departmental officials inspected the Lettuce and mustard plantations growing in hydroponics without soil in Heho Aesthetic Farm and the responsible personals explained the conveying Lettuce and mustard grow by using advance technology to the markets as value-added products and arrangements carrying out to expand the plantation. Upon the explanation, the union minister discussed the vital role of private agricultural entrepreneurs for the development of producing quality products.

Similarly, the union minister gave the necessary instructions on the process of avocado plantations by Shan Orchard Myanmar.

Next, the union minister and officials inspected preparations for growing pine trees at the road sides of Heho-BawSai  and the responsible officials clarified the work implementations.  The union minister gave instructions on the maintaining soil, soil moisture and agricultural educating work.
