African leaders dine in Paris with Macron ahead of summit

African leaders and international creditors arrived at Paris' Elysee Palace on Monday for a dinner which is being held ahead of a summit which will focus on ways to finance nations in the continent which have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. French President Emmanuel Macron was joined by his wife Brigitte in welcoming the leaders at the presidential palace.

He will host the summit on Tuesday. On Monday, Macron also hosted a conference gathering for the African leaders in which he announced the cancellation of Sudan's $5 billion debt to France in an effort to support the country's transitional leadership.
