The Central Administrative Body of State Pariyatti Sasana Universities convened its meeting in Yangon on Thursday.

The Vice Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee, Chairman Sayadaw of the Central Administrative Body, delivered an Ovada Gadha, emphasizing the flourishing of the Buddha Sasana for over 2,500 years and the adherence of Sangha members to its fundamental principles.

The Sayadaw urged all present to prioritize unity through negotiation, while navigating divergent opinions to ensure the organization's long-term sustainability. Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Tin Oo Lwin presented religious matters, highlighting the establishment of State Pariyatti Sasana Universities with the consensus of Sangha members nationwide.

These universities were established in line with the Pariyatti Education Project, as approved during the Third meeting of the First State Central Working Committee of the Sangha. Stressing the importance of aligning the universities with the four policies of Pariyatti education, he called for harmonious efforts among Sangha members and laypersons to promote the flourishing and propagation of Buddhist missionary tasks.

The State Pariyatti Sasana Universities, located in Yangon and Mandalay, consist of three major divisions: Vinaya Pitaka, Suttanta Pitika, and Abhidhamma Pitika. Additionally, divisions in Pali, Myanmar, English, and World Religions have been established to support the study of Pitaka Treatises. Embracing international teaching methods, the universities offer three types of degrees upon completion of the designated classes.
