Academic Tour : MOE Union Minister tours in Yangon

On 19th September, Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein visited Yangon University of Education and oversaw the condition of the students taking 2nd semester examiniation for 2024-2025 Academic Year. During the meeting with the rector, pro rector, professors and faculty members, the Union Minister stressed on the emergence of qualified education personnel, encouraging the scholar exchanging programs.

The Union Minister also instructed to accelerate the collaborative measures between Yangon University of Education and Sagaing University of Education and called for the suppor of the university in alternative education activities organized by the Department of Alternative Education.

On arrival at Yangon University of Education Practising High School (TTC) and No.2 Basic Education High School, Sanchaung, the Union Minister urged on increasing matriculation exam pass rate as well as the number of outstanding students. The Union Minister also stressed on safe and drug-free learning environment, standardized school uniforms and systematic operation of the school in accordance with the procedures.

The Union Minister also coordinated requirements upon reports presented by the faculty members and oversaw the learning condition of the students. Then, the Union Minister proceeded to Yangon University of Foreign Languages, met with the rector, pro rector and faculty memebers.

During the meeting, the Union Minister provided necessary instructions on opening Spanish and Italian languages courses, systematic library records, emergence of fresh and innovative project base papers of the final year students as well as to turn out outstanding athletes from the university.

After hearing reports on university’s teaching and management measures, the Union Minister oversaw the students taking the 2nd semester examiniation for 2024-2025 Academic Year. In the afternoon, the Union Minister met with the Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of Myanmar Academy of Arts and Science at the convocation hall of Yangon University, made discussions on successful holding of 25th Arts and Science Research Conference, filling the vacant executive members for the association and writing research papers on alternative education and current education system.

On the same day, the Union Minister visited National Curriculum Committee, met with the officials and made discussions on reviewing, revising and amending the enacted Grade-12 curriculum and made suggestions on teaching techniques and evaluation procedures. In the evening, the Union Minister oversaw the Central Level Middle School Education Supervising Instructor Course for 2025-2026 Academic Year opened at the Department of Alternative Education Yangon Branch.
