9th Partners Meeting : MRCS held its 9th Partners Meeting

The opening ceremony of the 9th Partners Meeting organized by the Myanmar Red Cross Society was held at Melia Hotel in Yangon on November 6. Union Minister for Health, Professor Dr. Thet Khaing Win, attended and delivered the opening speech.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that the Myanmar Red Cross Society, as stipulated in the Myanmar Red Cross Society Law, operates as a reserve force of the state in the humanitarian sector. Therefore, there exists a special and profound relationship between the Ministry of Health and the Myanmar Red Cross Society.

He mentioned that the 9th Partners Meeting is necessary to review the humanitarian sector within Myanmar and to strategically coordinate future efforts. He acknowledged the unique humanitarian activities of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and encouraged continued collaboration for the benefit of the people of Myanmar.

Following this, Professor Dr. Myo Nyunt, Chairman of the Myanmar Red Cross Society; Ms. Juja Kim, Deputy Director of the Asia-Pacific Regional Federation of International Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and Mr. Regis Savioz, Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific Regional International Red Cross Committee, delivered their welcoming remarks. The event continued with the screening of a commemorative video for the 9th Partners Meeting.

Then the Union Minister took a group photo with the attendees at the event.
