7th Anniversary of NCA: Commemoration Ceremony held in Nay Pyi Taw

A celebration for the 7th Anniversary of signing the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) was held at the National Reconciliation and Peace Center in Nay Pyi Taw on Saturday.

A video message sent by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in his capacity as the Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Central Committee was screened at the ceremony.

In his message, the Senior General wished all the national brethren mental and physical well-being. And, he stressed that the most important issue in the country is to get peace.

Only when all take the NCA path, will the country get peace and become a union based on federalism and democracy. The Senior General highlighted the SAC’s efforts for peace and the Tatmadaw’s statements on ceasefire and perpetual peace and ongoing peace talks and progress. 

It was followed by a commemoration speech by member of the State Administration Council Union Minister at the Union Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae. Then, the master of the ceremonies made a brief explanation on the efforts for signing NCA and holding the anniversary celebrations.

The ceremony continued with the commemoration speeches by those who involved throughout the peace process till the signing of NCA. The commemorative gifts were also presented to the personnel who involved personally in an effort for signing the NCA and the leaders of Ethnic Armed Organizations.
