







On the 78th Martyrs’ Day falls on July 19, people from all walks of life show their condolences for fallen heroes by paying visits to the Bogyoke Aung San Museum located in Bahan Township, Yangon also to the museum opened in the native town of Bygyoke Aung San, Natmauk of Magway Region.
Similarly, the Ministers’ Office or Secretariat Yangon is crowded with visitors who could study the historic site where Bogyoke Aung San and colleagues were assassinated plus their document photos and office furniture.
Ngu Kay Khine, Chief Operation Officer, Anawmar Art Group Co., Ltd. said "I’m in-charge of renovation and preservation processes of the Secretariat Yangon. On 78th Martyrs’ Day, more items are displayed to the public. This gallery is opened by the Department of Archeology and National Museum."
In order to instill the spirit of patriotism among the public, the speeches delivered by General Aung San as well as historic songs in commemoration of the Martyrs’ Day and the songs about the martyrs led by General Aung San were played in the office compound.
Kyaw Zin Tun, Grade-11 Student, No(5)B.E.H.S (Botahtaung) said "I’m honored to be here on the 78th Martyrs’ Day. It is my first time visiting here with my classmates. I also learn about the history of Martyrs and the Ministers’ Office. I would like to visit here next time."
In order to raise public awareness on the history of Myanmar, the sacrifice of Myanmar heroes for regaining the national independence, the Department of Archeology and National Museum arranged touchscreen quiz session about the Martyrs and their biographies. Visitors actively participated in the quiz session and prizes were given to those who could answer all the questions correctly.
Nyi Nyi Zaw, Visitor said "I come here with my colleague. I took part in the quiz and grabbed 1st prize. It was awesome being the quiz winner."
On 19th July, Ministers’ Office (Yangon Secretariat) is opened for the public from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM with free of charge. Normally, the entrance fee is 3,000 kyats for one person, 1,000 kyats for a students and 15,000 kyats for foreigner.
