6.5km long traffic jam to border crossing with Romania

New satellite images released on Friday showed a long queue of cars at Ukraine's border with Romania. The 6.5 kilometre traffic jam was seen at the Siret border crossing. Droves of Ukrainians have been fleeing their country in recent days after Russia's invasion.

The invasion of Ukraine began early on Thursday with missile strikes on cities and military bases, followed by a multi-pronged ground assault that rolled troops in from separatist-held areas in the east; from the southern region of Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014; and from Belarus to the north.
