5th GA of A-WEB: UEC Chairman to attend 5th General Assembly of A-WEB

At the invitation of the Election Commission of South Africa and Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) to the 5th General Assembly of A-WEB, the Chairman of Union Election Commission U Thein Soe and commission member U Aung Moe Myint will attend the occasion.

The Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB) was formed in 2013 and comprised of 119 associations related to the election from 109 countries including Myanmar.

Myanmar Delegation led by the Chairman of Union Election Commission departed from Yangon Yangon International Airport at 10:15 AM on 16th October by flight to attend the 5th General Assembly of the Association of World Election Bodies (A-WEB). The delegation was seen of at the Airport by the UEC members U Aung Saw Win, U Saw Ba Hlaing and the officials from the Yangon Region Sub Election Commission.

By attending the general assembly, there are several advantages such as having opportunity to observe the election systems of member countries, technical exchange among the member countries and strengthening the friendly relationship among the member countries. The general assembly will be organized from 17th to 22nd of October, it’s learnt.
