58th Anniversary: RTAD holds commemorative ceremony

Member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Transport and Communications Admiral Tin Aung San attended the 58th Anniversary of the Road Transport Administration Department(RTAD) on Wednesday and presented awards to outstanding staffs.

At the Ceremony, the Union Minister said that under the leadership of NRSC as the Focal Department of the National Road Safety Council, the Road Transport Administration Department is undertaking measures for traffic and road safety of Myanmar and cooperating with regional countries and international organizations in line with the Global Plan for UN’s Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030).

It is serving as the focal Department of the ASEAN Transportation sector. The transportation and communication sector which is being undertaken by the ministry plays a crucial role for the livelihood, social, economic, health and education sectors of the individuals as well as transportation and relations of ethnic people in the nation.

He called for the RTAD to serve more for the interest of the state with the aim for the development of the state and improving socio-economic life of the people. Then, a video clip on the 58th Anniversary of the Road Transport Administration Department was shown.

The Union Minister and the Deputy Ministers then presented certificates of honour and honorary awards to senior officials who received honorary medals conferred by the SAC in 2022 and those who were conferred the Good Public Service medals in 2022 and who got outstanding awards in the respective trainings.

After the ceremony, the Union Minister and guests attended a luncheon in commemoration of the ceremony and had lunch together with the staffs of the Department. Likewise, the 58th Anniversary celebrations were held at the respective region/state/district offices of the Road Transport Administration Department.
