Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung attended the meeting and made a speech, saying that security committees at all levels have been formed and coordinated through three previous meetings.

The UEC has announced that Phase 1 of the general elections in 102 townships will be held on December 28, 2025, and Phase 2 in 100 townships on January 11, 2026. Candidates will have a 60-day campaign period, and all security agencies must ensure safe and smooth election activities.

He highlighted the ongoing efforts to verify voter lists, handle public inquiries through Call Centers, and conduct field inspections to ensure accurate records. Preparations are also underway to facilitate advance voting for eligible voters away from their constituencies, including those in prisons and detention centers.

The Union Minister stressed the need for tight security at polling stations, voting machines, candidates, and voters, as well as coordination with election observers and media during the election period. As of October 29, authorities have taken legal action in 40 cases involving 88 offenders under the law preventing disruptions to the election process.

Security forces were urged to continue preventing threats, maintain stability, and ensure public safety throughout the election period. Regional committees also presented their local security plans and progress reports, followed by discussions and concluding remarks from the Union Minister.
