33rd SEA Games: Myanmar secures 2 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze

The 33rd SEA Games is being conducted in grand manner in Bangkok, Thailand. On 10th December, Cane ball, Sepak Takraw, Petong, Kanoe, Takewondo, Cricket, Billiards and Snooker, Volleyball competitions were held in respective stadiums and sports grounds.

In Linking Event 3 Women Competition held at Nakhonpathom Sport Center, Myanmar Women Chinlone Team won gold medal which is the very first gold medal of Myanmar in 33rd SEA Games. Likewise, in Linking (Event 3) Men Competition, Myanmar Men Chinlone Team secured the 2nd gold medal for Myanmar as a result of their relentless dedication. 

To honor the athletes’ unwavering hard work, the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Yangon Region Government and Myanmar Sports Associations and organizations presented cash rewards to the athletes respectively. In Sepak Takraw Hoop Competitions, Myanmar Men and Women Sepak Takraw Teams won the 2nd Prizes respectively due to their consistent efforts.

The Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs presented cash rewards respectively. In Petong Competitions held at Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage (Bangkok), Myanmar Athlete Khin Cherry Thet brought Myanmar a silver medal. In Kanoe 500-m individual competition, Myanmar athlete Myo Hlaing Win secured silver medal, bringing prestige to the nation.

Likewise, Myanmar Team won a joint 3rd Prize with the Philippines Team in Free Style Mixed Team. As of 10thDecember, Myanmar athletes have secured 2 gold, 4 silver, and 1 bronze, 7 medals in total, placing the country third in the overall rankings.
