2nd Coordination Meeting: MoD UM delivered the opening speech

The second coordination meeting of the Management Committee for Job Acquisition of Dutiful Ex-Military Service Personnel was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Defence in Nay Pyi Taw on October 23.

The Chairman of the Management Committee, Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye, attended and delivered an address. First, the Committee Chairman, Union Minister General Maung Maung Aye, stated that the primary purpose of forming the Management Committee is to secure employment for dutiful ex-service personnel after they have completed their service duties.

In accordance with the committee's tasks and responsibilities, he mentioned that they will be provided training in vocational and technical trades at vocational training courses to ensure permanent service personneland people's military service personnel seeking reassignment acquire up-to-date skills.

They will issue Certificates of Recognition from the vocational training school to those who successfully complete the courses. They will work towards having government departments, companies, and private enterprises recognize these vocational certificates according to their types and provide job placements.

For permanent service personnel and people's military service personnel seeking reassignment, the Ministry of Labour will coordinate to issue domestic Labour Cards and Overseas Worker Identification Cards (OWIC) for overseas employment, and connect with agencies to find jobs.

For people's military service personnel who have completed their service dutifully, efforts will be made to facilitate their re-appointment to their original jobs or positions in the government departments, companies, private businesses, or organizations where they worked before undertaking people's military service.

Following this, the Committee Vice-Chairmen, members, and attendees provided suggestions and discussions on matters to be further implemented for carrying out the Management Committee's tasks and responsibilities, according to their respective sectors. The Committee Chairman coordinated necessary support, delivered concluding remarks.
