29th AFMGM+3: Myanmar delegation joins the regional meeting

Myanmar delegation led by Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar Dr Khin Naing Oo participated in the 29th ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers’ and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting – 29th AFMGM+3.

The meetings were hosted by Uzbekistan on Sunday. The meeting discussed the global and regional macro economic prospects and energy security crisis caused by Middle East situations. Dr Khin Naing Oo discussed the need to develop policies for tackling the impacts and pledged to cooperate with ASEAN+3 countries for stability of regional economy.

The meeting reported the progress on Chiang Mai Initiative Multilateralization (CMIM), and the attendees agreed to finalized for signing the agreement for fourth amendment of CMIM in line with the regulations of respective nations.

The meeting discussed Asian Bond Markets Initiatives, Disaster Risk Insurance Facility, cross-border digital payment system. The Joint Declaration was also adopted, and the 30th ASEAN+3 Finance Ministers' and Central Bank Governors' meeting is set to be held in Japan in 2027.
