







Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Khin Maung Yi attended the 20th 2025 Eco Expo Asia in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. On October 28, the opening ceremony of Eco Expo Asia was held where the Union Minister and the attending heads of national delegations inaugurated the Eco Expo Asia 2025 exhibition.
During the Eco Expo Asia Conference – Government Session (1), the Union Minister stated that Myanmar, like other countries in the Asian region, is facing significant environmental challenges. To mitigate these challenges, Myanmar is formulating and implementing robust policies, strategies, and work plans.
Furthermore, firm policies and strategic programs concerning climate change mitigation and achieving carbon neutrality are being adopted and implemented to ensure Myanmar's sustainable development. The Minister also mentioned that a Green Economy Policy Framework, prioritizing the efficient use of natural resources, is being developed in Myanmar.
He concluded by saying that Myanmar is always ready to collaborate with regional and international partners to continue accelerating its environmental conservation efforts and address regional environmental challenges.
Following this, the Union Minister toured the exhibition booths showcasing green-based projects, eco-friendly products, air quality improvement solutions, waste recycling and energy generation, energy production based on agricultural waste, green building development, and green transport, including electric vehicles, electric and gas hybrid vehicles, and hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles. Afterward, the Union Minister and the delegation attended a technical seminar.
