18th China-ASEAN Culture Forum: MORAC Union Minister arrived back Yangon

A delegation led by Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko arrived back in Yangon on Thursday after attending the 18th China-ASEAN Culture Forum, held in Nanning of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China.

During his stay in China, the Union Minister visited Guanyin Temple on the Qingxiu mountain of Nanning on the 18th, and offered cash donation to the Assistance Abbot. In the evening, he visited the Myanmar Consulate General Office and met with the Consul General and staff families.

The Union Minister then attended the preliminary meeting of 18th China-ASEAN Culture Forum.

On 19th June, the Union Minister attended the 18th China-ASEAN Culture Forum and delivered a speech relating the development of the Myanmar Library at the panel session, titled “Building Smart Libraries and Promotion on Reading”. Director of National Library (Yangon) Dr KayThiAye also participated in Special Dialogue Programme. 

In the evening, the Union Minister and party attended the Opening Ceremony of Revival and Reconstruction of the Yongle Encyclopedia at the Guangxi National Library and viewed round the library and museums.

On 20th June, the Union Minister and party left for Liuzhou, and visited No Wang Snail Rice Noodle Factory, Liuzhou Shrine, Industrial Museum and Bauhinia Culture Creative Gallery exhibition hall.

In the evening, they joined the dinner hosted by Liuzhou Mayor and viewed around the night scene of Liuzhou city along the river via cruise.

On 21st June, the Union Minister and party arrived at the Kummin airport where they paid homage SitaguSayadaw who is in Kummin to prepare for Shwedagon pagoda replica.

On 22nd June, the Union Minister and party saw off SitaguSayadaw and left Kummin airport for Myanmar.
