16th Anniversary Ceremony of UEC: UEC Chairman delivered the speech of honor

The 16th Anniversary Ceremony of the Union Election Commission Office was held,in the morning of March 11, at the meeting hall of the UEC Office in Nay Pyi Taw.

The event was attended by Union Election Commission Chairman U Than Soe, Commission members, responsible officials from the UEC Office, and officers and staff. At the ceremony, the UEC Chairman delivered an opening address, stating that over the 16-year period, successive commissions have successfully conducted 4 general elections and 3 by-elections. He mentioned that the current commission has strived to successfully conduct the 2025 Multi-Party Democracy General Election amidst difficulties and challenges, employing a voting system, voting method, and election procedure different from previous elections.

He urged continued efforts to organize future elections with similar unity and success, ensuring free, fair, and dignified elections. He expressed gratitude and commemorative recognition to responsible officials from various ministries, Region/State governments and departmental officials, respected individuals from sub-commissions at various levels, individuals from volunteer organizations, and all staff of the commission and its sub-commissions who participated and collaborated.

Following this, certificates of honor and awards were presented to 2 officers who received trainee model awards from courses conducted by the Civil Service Academy, 2 officers who received other excellence awards, 1 Deputy Director who served as an associate in the election observation program, and 1 staff family member who excelled in the matriculation examination with distinctions in 4 subjects.

Additionally, a lucky draw worth over 28.5 million with no losing tickets was conducted. Continuing into the evening, invited guests and Commission Office staff were hosted at a commemorative dinner and the Commission Office staff happily performed songs and dance entertainments.
