13th World Standards Day: MoST UM delivered the opening remarks

The 13th World Standards Day ceremony was held at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Science and Technology on October 14, with the aim of honoring international experts who develop standards for the International Standards Organization and local contributors involved in the emergence of Myanmar standards.

The Chairman of the National Standards Council and Union Minister for the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, delivered the opening address. Following this, a message of greeting for World Standards Day from Mr. Sergio Mujica, Secretary-General of the International Standards Organization, was presented, and a video related to World Standards Day (2025) was shown. Subsequently, the ceremony marking the completion of the "Project for Strengthening the National Quality Infrastructure and Implementing the National Quality Conformity Assessment Body," implemented with the (2023) Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund, was held in a hybrid format.

The Chairman of the National Standards Council and Union Minister for the Ministry of Science and Technology, Dr. Myo Thein Kyaw, attended and delivered the opening remarks. Afterwards, Deputy Director-General U Aung Kyaw Moe from the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Joint Coordination Committee, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered opening remarks.

The Director-General of the Department of Research and Innovation under the Ministry of Science and Technology then explained the status of the project implementation. It is reported that responsible personnel from the Department of National Standards and Quality under the Department of Research and Innovation also presented explanations regarding the activities carried out for strengthening the National Quality Infrastructure and the implementation status of the project for establishing the National Quality Conformity Assessment Body.
