11th ASEAN Para Games 2022: Myanmar Para athletes will compete in 7 Sports

11th ASEAN Para Games 2022 will be held in Solo city of Indonesia from 30th July to 6th August.

More than 1,500 athletes from 11 ASEAN countries such as Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Viet Nam and Timor Leste have registered to participate in the Games. 14 kinds of sports have been set for the upcoming Para Games, and Myanmar athletes will compete in 7 kinds of sports.

Myanmar para athletes are being trained the best to get gold medals in the events, and to bring prestige to the country. The ASEAN Para Games is held every two years for the disable athletes, and the first ASEAN Para Games was held in Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia in 2001.

In the 9th Para Games, held in 2017, Myanmar team won a total of 43 medals including 11 gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze medals. The 10th ASEAN Para Games was not able to host in the Philippines due to the outbreak of global pandemic COVID-19.
