




In order to join the forthcoming 10th ASEAN Quiz (Regional Level), the ASEAN student youths arrived at the Yangon International Airport Sunday. With the theme, “ASEAN: A community of Peace, Prosperity and Sustainability”, Myanmar will host the 10th ASEAN Quiz (Regional Level) for the first time and such competition will be held in Nay Pyi Taw on 14th December.
The ASEAN Quiz is one of the projects of Sub-committee on Information (SCI) under the ASEAN Committee for Culture and Information (ASEAN COCI). The ASEAN Quiz competitions have been held with the lofty aims to foster the spirit of healthy competition among ASEAN youths by holding a friendly quiz on ASEAN cultural, political, economic and social developments in the Region.
Nabiela Syifa Zahira, Student, Indonesia said "We studied together for the ASEAN Quiz competition. First of all, we used the materials that might come in the competitions and then we watched the previous competitions. We practiced together and asked each other. Actually, we haven’t competed the competition like this. If we win, we celebrate and have fun because this is the reward that we have got through hard work. So, we deserve to enjoy and celebrate it. "
ASEAN Quiz competitions have been organized in rotation by the ASEAN member states once every two years since 2002. The competition was hosted by Thailand in 2002, Brunei in 2004, Malaysia in 2006, the Philippines in 2009, Cambodia in 2012, Viet Nam in 2014, Lao PDR in 2016, Indonesia in 2018 and Singapore in 2020.
Sky Broxlyne Roy Maxwill, Student, Malaysia said "Actually, this is my first time experience for this competition. We've researched from a lot of videos online, reading articles as well as studied from official ASEAN websites and do intensive questions and tests. If we win the 10th ASEAN Quiz competition, I would raise more ASEAN awareness. This is fun and this is full of experiences. "
The ASEAN Quiz is designed to foster the spirit of healthy competition among ASEAN youths while providing a platform for ASEAN youths to gain a deeper understanding among the ASEAN member states.
