10th Anniversary of NCA: Acting President SSPC Chairman delivered a speech

The ceremony marking the 10th Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) was held in the morning on October 15, at the Myanmar International Convention Center (1) (MICC-1) in Nay Pyi Taw.

The Acting President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission, Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Central Committee, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, attended and delivered a speech. First, the ceremony to mark the 10th Anniversary of the NCA was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting by Vice Chairman of the State Security and Peace Commission Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Commission member, Union Minister, Chairman of National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and ethnic leaders Saw Mutu Say Poe , U Zozam , and Sai Tun Kyi, together with ethnic representatives.

Following this, Acting President, SSPC Chairman and NSPCC Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, pressed a button to unveil the commemorative signboard for the 10th Anniversary of the NCA ceremony. Afterwards, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman, NSPCC Chairman, and attendees wrote down their personal views and perspectives regarding peacemaking efforts on leaves of the 'Peace Tree' and hung them.

Subsequently, the second part of the ceremony continued in the Jade Hall of MICC-1. The commemorative ceremony for the 10th Anniversary of the NCA began with an LED animation display, followed by a collective solemn salute to the national flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Then, the Acting President, SSPC Chairman and NSPCC Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, delivered a speech for the 10th Anniversary of the NCA. Afterwards, commemorative addresses were given by: Kayin ethnic leader Saw Mutu Say Poe, a signatory to the NCA; Mr. Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, representing the international witnesses who signed the NCA; Shri Abhay Thakur, Ambassador of India to Myanmar, representing the Indian witness and the Ministry of External Affairs of India; Mr. Pisanu Suvanajata, former Thai Ambassador to Myanmar and Interim Secretary-General of the Asian Peace and Reconciliation Council (APRC) from Thailand and U Aung Min, a signatory to the NCA.

Following this, Acting President, SSPC Chairman and NSPCC Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, presented commemorative gifts to the specially invited guests from China, India, and the ASEAN region, as well as to Kayin national leader Saw Mutu Say Poe and NCA signatory U Aung Min.

Afterwards, Acting President, SSPC Chairman and NSPCC Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, posed for a group photo with the attendees. After the ceremony, Acting President, SSPC Chairman and NSPCC Chairman, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, hosted a luncheon in honor of the attendees of the 10th Anniversary of the NCA ceremony.
