Traditional Medicine Forum: Union Minister for Health attends 2023 forum in China

Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win who is in Nanchang of Jiangxi Province in China to attend the 2023 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Forum on Traditional Medicine, visited JiangZhong Chinese Traditional Medicine Manufacturing and Gallery.

There, the Union Minister heard explanations on production of Chinese traditional medicine using modern technology, quality testing and distribution.

At the opening ceremony of the forum, the Union Minister delivered opening remarks stressing that collaborative efforts are needed to promote traditional medicine sector and to make traditional medicine accessible to everyone.

The Ministry is making concerted efforts to provide qualified traditional medical treatment to the public. All of the traditional medicine manufacturers in Myanmar must be registered and have manufacturing licenses.

To produce qualified and safe medical products, importing of required raw material and substances is needed to meet set standards. Export recommendations are also provided to increase the export volume of the traditional medical products.

Exerted efforts are required in protection of the traditional medicine patents, promotion of traditional medicine usage in ethical practice and traditional medicine inheritance and innovation processes, he added. The Union Minister also visited JiangSu pharmaceuticals industry, Chinese traditional medicine clinics and galleries.
