18th Asia Media Summit: MOI Union Minister left to attend the Summit

The Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn left for Indonesia by Air to attend the 18th Asia Media Summit in the morning on 22nd May.

The Summit is yearly organized by the Asia-Pacific Institute For Broadcasting Development – AIBD founded by UNESCO, ITU, UNDP in 1977 with the aims at promoting media role and capacity in the current state building tasks and development of the country, improvement of domestic and regional broadcasting media, safeguarding cultural traditions and customs in the region and among the countries, to adopt the standards of skills and code of conducts, boosting the role of the broadcasting media contributing public benefits, participating of social network media to facilitate sustainable development of the media, seeking the solution collectively at the Asian Media Summit with the professionals, officers and managers from the international radio and television stations and organizations of broadcasting industry. The summit will take place from 23rd to 25th of May.

The Summit will be attended by the broadcasting organizations of AIBD member countries, partner organizations, invited guests, observers and the government ministers, deputy ministers, heads of media and CEO. From Myanmar, together with the Union Minister for Information, director general U Ye Naing, deputy director general U Zayyar, deputy director U Han Win Aung and a member of Myanmar Press Council U Aye Chan will attend the meeting.
