China's Xi meets Austrian Chancellor in Beijing

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Austrian Chancellor Christian Stocker at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Friday, calling for joint efforts to uphold multilateralism and free trade. Xi said China and Austria had strengthened political mutual trust and achieved results in practical cooperation as they mark 55 years of diplomatic relations.

Stocker, on his first visit to China as chancellor from November 2nd to 7th, said Austria wanted to deepen cooperation with Beijing in science, research, technology and innovation. He also noted that around 650 Austrian companies are active in China.
