Doctor stabbed by patient at hospital

A psychiatric doctor was stabbed and injured by a former patient at Sinchon Severance Hospital in Seoul, South Korea on November 4. The attacker was a woman in her 50s. She entered the psychiatric department clinic and attacked the doctor.

The victim was immediately moved to the emergency room and received medical attention. He reportedly did not sustain life-threatening injuries. Police investigators found that the woman committed the attack with a weapon she had prepared in advance. She was not a patient waiting for treatment that day. Further investigations are underway to determine the appropriate course of action against the attacker.
