US singer Chris Brown receives eight-month suspended sentence for 'serious public violence'

US singer Chris Brown avoided jail on Monday as he is handed an eight-month suspended sentence for his involvement in a violent incident at a London nightclub.

Brown pleaded guilty to a public order offence during the altercation in Tape nightclub, Mayfair, in 2023. The guilty plea avoided a trial on several other charges, including attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon, namely a bottle.
