UK PM Burnham announces push to end rough sleeping by Christmas

UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has announced a nationwide initiative to offer accommodation to everyone sleeping rough by Christmas.

During a visit to homelessness charity The Connection at St Martin’s in central London, Burnham and Finance Minister John Healey met people with experience of homelessness.

Andy Burnham, UK Prime Minister said ’I am now confident in saying that we can give everybody an offer away from the street this Christmas."

The initiative draws on Greater Manchester’s previous homelessness support programmes and comes ahead of Healey’s first budget as Finance Minister.
