Pyithu Hluttaw: 19th day meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw

Third Pyithu Hluttaw held its 19th day of the 3rd regular session at the Hluttaw building in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday, attended by Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi and Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn.

During the meeting, Hluttaw representatives raised questions on renovation of two-storey office building of election commission in Waw Township, reconstruction of standardized township football ground with grandstand in Thaekone Township of Bago Region, upgrading of township sports ground to district level facility in Hmawbi Township of Yangon Region, and rehabilitation and reconstruction of damaged religious buildings and basic infrastructure damaged by terrorist acts in Naung Cho, Kyaukme and Hsipaw townships.

In addition, questions were raised on government’s plans to provide humanitarian aid and support to displace individuals due to instability in their regions, to take action on illegal tax collection at checkpoints in Mon State and to establish official status for Thaya Aye and Shwe Kan Tha Villages in Zeyathiri Township along with the Thiri Mingalar and Seik Khin (3) Villages in Dekkhinathiri Township.

The meeting submitted a proposal on enacting law or bylaw for safeguarding the national language, literature, and culture. The meeting also announced the acceptance on the  Bill for Development and Protection of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises. The 20th day meeting will be held on October 23rd.
