Morocco’s Midelt hosts an apple festival highlighting regional production

Morocco’s Midelt hosted an apple festival highlighting regional production, while addressing drought, water scarcity, rising costs and efforts to improve fruit quality and farmers’ incomes.  They highlighted the potential of the Drâa-Tafilalet region in fruit production, particularly apple growing. 

The event provided an opportunity to examine the current state of the apple production sector and the challenges facing farmers, including successive years of drought, water scarcity, rising production costs and the impact of climate fluctuations on crop quality and yields.
