India hosts first BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ meet

India is hosting the first BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ meeting in New Delhi on Tuesday. Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the shared commitment of BIMSTEC countries to address security challenges that cross national borders and threaten regional stability.

He described the meeting as a historic step towards strengthening regional cooperation.  Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah said that India is committed towards reflecting up on grouping’s shared resolve to address common security challenges. He added that decisive coordination among member states would be essential to building a safer, stronger and more secure BIMSTEC region.
