The Kenyan government has confirmed the country’s first imported case of Ebola, a UN spokesperson said. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric on Tuesday said Kenyan authorities rapidly identified, isolated and tested the case, while the World Health Organization (WHO) and its partners are supporting the authorities in preparedness for the response effort.

Kenyan health officials are on alert for the possible spread of the disease, and working to identify people who had contact with the patient. Ebola cases were also reported in Uganda, which is located between DRC and Kenya, earlier this year.
