China’s commercial space launches hit new record

China’s commercial space sector logged a record-breaking 50 commercial launches in 2025, accounting for 54 percent of the country’s total 92 orbital launches that year, according to data from the China National Space Administration.

Commercial rockets placed 311 commercial satellites into orbit in 2025, making up 84% of all Chinese satellites launched. The Hainan commercial spacecraft launch site, which is the country’s first dedicated commercial spaceport, conducted 9 launches in its opening year of 2025.
