Coordination Meeting: Kayah State CM addresses meeting for Deeku Festival

The second coordination meeting for the successful holding of the Kayah nationals’ Deeku Festival was held on September 25 at the meeting hall of the Kayah State Government Office, attended by State Chief Minister U Ant Maw and responsible officials.

First, the State Chief Minister delivered the opening remarks, stating that as the festival will be held grandly and colorfully, it is necessary to focus on ensuring there are no lapses across sectors as well as no security oversights. He added that since the festival dates are approaching, all relevant departments and ethnic literature and culture committees under their respective work committees need to complete their assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.

He expressed his desire for everyone to actively participate from their respective roles, as the festival aims to inspire younger generations to cherish and preserve their traditional customs. Next, the chairman of the festival organizing leading committee and work committee members presented the planned activities and current progress for holding the Deeku Festival, followed by supplementary discussions from members of the state government. Afterwards, the State Chief Minister coordinated the necessary points based on the presentations and delivered the closing remarks.
