National Committee Meeting : Responding to conflict-related sexual violence

The National Committee on Prevention and Response to Conflict-Related Sexual Violence held its meeting at the Ministry of Women’s Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The meeting discussed the first six-month implementation report of the National Action Plan (2025–2026) and preparations to extend the plan for another term. Committee Chairperson Union Minister for Women’s Affairs Dr. Thet Thet Zin said the committee was reconstituted in May 2026 and its working committee and core group were reorganized in June.

She stressed the importance of continued cooperation among relevant ministries and organizations to prevent and respond to conflict-related sexual violence. The meeting also reviewed progress on decisions from previous committee meetings and discussed and approved the final draft of the first six-month report of the National Action Plan.
