Chinese FM meets with Iranian counterpart in Beijing

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi in Beijing on Wednesday, for high-level talks on bilateral ties and regional security. Wang encouraged both Iran and US to stay calm, rebuild their negotiation mechanism based on previous consensus, and hold substantive talks.

Both sides also discussed stabilizing regional energy routes, reopening the Straits of Hormuz and Oman, and maintaining their comprehensive strategic partnership.
