India and Nigeria discuss strengthening strategic partnership

The bilateral meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima took place on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, India.

Vice President Shettima represented Nigerian President Bola Tinubu at the summit, leading a delegation of senior cabinet ministers. The meeting focused on reviewing and deepening the India-Nigeria Strategic Partnership, which spans economic cooperation, defense, digital transformation, and people-to-people relations.

Both leaders discussed expanding bilateral collaboration in trade and investment, energy security, agriculture, capacity building, and the digital economy.
