Kenya gives foreign workers 90 days to formalize status

The Kenyan government has granted foreign nationals operating small-scale businesses and working informally a 90-day grace period to regularize their immigration, work permits, and business licenses. After the 90 days conclude, authorities will strictly enforce immigration and licensing laws.

During the registration window, compliant or registering individuals are considered legally present. Initially, President William Ruto ordered foreign nationals to stop hawking and operating small shops on September 7.
