The ceremony marking the International Day of Clean Air was held on September 7 at the Environmental Conservation Department in Nay Pyi Taw.

At the event, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo stated that the ceremony for the International Day of Clean Air is held annually on September 7 to foster better understanding of the causes of air pollution and its impacts on human health and the environment, as well as to promote practical actions worldwide to improve air quality. He added that this year's event is commemorated under the theme "Clean Air for Climate Action."

He highlighted that efforts toward clean air help protect public health, boost productivity, foster economic development, and minimize losses caused by climate change. Myanmar is collaborating with ASEAN member states with a focus on reducing fire hotspots, controlling transboundary haze pollution, and improving air quality.

He concluded by noting that the Environmental Conservation Department monitors national ambient air quality, releases public information, and conducts awareness campaigns, before touring the posters displayed at the event.
